Company history

1938
Japan Chemical Engineering & Machinery Co., Ltd was established for the purpose of
manufacturing and marketing chemical machinery and water tube boilers.

Since 1947
Developed proprietary technology for use in manufacturing alcohol distillation equipment
and delivered equipment to the Ministry of International Trade and Industry and breweries
throughout the nation.

1957
Pioneered the commercialization of metal titanium chemical equipment under the guidance of Sumitomo Metal Industries, Ltd., and then commenced manufacturing titanium equipment as their authorized factory.

1959
Capital was increased to 100 million yen with participation from the Sumitomo Group.

1960
Developed portable cryogenic liquefied gas container, cold converter, truck tank, and
evaporator, and commenced manufacturing them.

1968
Capital was increased to 150 million yen.

1970
Shiga plant commenced operation.

1971
Completed a large-scale Coulter spray dryer prototype.

1974
Capital was increased to 225 million yen. The Minami-yamada plant in Shiga prefecture commenced operation.

1976
Capital was increased to 250 million yen.

1978
Completed 2nd stage construction of the Shiga plant.

1980
Capital was increased to 275 million yen.

1985
Received Osakafs excellent QC promotion company award from the Osaka governor for introducing TQC (Total Quality Control).

1990
Entered into a technical tie-up with J. MONTZ GmbH (Germany) and introduced the Montz-pak distillation system in addition to conventional distillation technologies.

1993
Received the excellent high-pressure equipment manufacturer award from the Osaka governor.

1999
Acquired ISO9001 certification for our cryogenic liquefied gas equipment etc. from the KHK-ISO Center of the High Pressure Gas Safety Institute of Japan.

2002
Developed a catalytic exhaust gas deodorizer, and entered the environmental equipment business.

2003
Entered a tie-up for technical guidance with MS Engineering (Korea) in the field of cryogenic liquefied gas vessels.

2004
Accredited under the small and medium enterprise business innovation assistance law by the Osaka governor for manufacturing a continuous high speed dryer using near-infrared radiation.

2007
Contracted to be part of Japanfs largest bio-ethanol manufacturing plant along with Kirin Brewery Company, Limited and Mitsubishi Corporation.

2008
Acquired
Eco Action 21 certification.
Sales of a portable cryogenic vessel (Super 45G) achieved a cumulative total of 100,000 units.
Received a Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Award as an gExcellent high-pressure gas manufacturer.h
